Basic info Car: Toyota Corolla GT-S (AE86) Date added: Monday, 23. January 2012 From garage: A Whole New World Description: First of all if you wonder how I got some of the picture angles, the secret is to go into the paintshop with your HUD off and change the painted area of the car. You just need to know where to click on the screen to get there :] Ok, about the car. This design is inspired by the famous woodblock print 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by an artist known as Hokusai. I first had trouble in getting a good theme for this challenge but when I happened to see a picture of 'The Great Wave' on one website I just knew I have to make a car based on it. I think the theme is just perfect for this challenge, it represents the element of water well and when the Five Elements philosophy, The Great Wave and the car itself is from japan, it all just works nicely together I hope you like it and good luck to all contestants :] Tags The Entry's Categories

It's the details. Little red touches, the black F355 GTS strip on the back... real nice.
Another great touch is the base color - don't know if it was aged paper, lack of the modern chemicals to bleach the paper enough, of was it colored intentionally, but it gives out that specific bright beige tone to it, and you nailed it correctly.
Also, the discrete details are a nice touch as well. Little of the wave on the hood, and the gibberish on the side works very well.
Bodykit is great, and the rims just might be the best part of the whole car. Not just the shape of them, but the fact that you dropped the car all the way down, making the wheels angled. Very Japan-ish.
The whole car really is actualy a retro Japan showcase in the best possible way.
I just wish the wave goes in the right direction
